OSWEGO, Ill. (WLS) -- A road was closed Friday in the west suburbs due to a large fire, police said.
An apparent natural gas leak and fire destroyed vehicles at a construction site.
The fire broke out after a natural gas line was damaged around 10:51 a.m. in the 300 block of Chesapeake Lane near Wolf Road in Oswego, Nicor said.
Chopper 7 was over the scene, where large flames could be seen shooting out of a field and at least two pieces construction equipment were burned, Oswego fire officials said.
No injuries were reported, officials said.
Several roads in the area were closed, police said, as crews worked to put out the fire and stop the gas from fueling it.
