CHICAGO (WLS) -- A 29-year-old man was shot and critically wounded on a CTA Red Line train Wednesday morning, Chicago police said.
The shooting took place at about 4:26 a.m. on a train in the 1100-block of South State Street.
Police said the victim was involved in a verbal and physical altercation with a male suspect who took out a gun and shot him.
The victim was wounded in the thigh and buttocks and transported to Stroger Hospital in critical condition, police said.
The suspect fled the scene and is not in custody, police said. Area Three detectives are investigating.
